Location is Important

There is a reason Mare’s House selected La Jolla as our home. It is a safe, beautiful San Diego neighborhood that is ideal for young women in transition. La Jolla, translated from Spanish means “the Jewel,” and the community was named this for good reason. La Jolla has some of California’s most beautiful coastline and hosts some of the world’s most famous surf spots.

The area has an abundance of job opportunities, as well as 12-Step meetings and support groups within biking distance. The house is also located near Kate Sessions Park, which features extensive jogging and hiking trails, in addition to incredible views of the entire city. There are also many excellent apartment complexes and shared roommate situations in close proximity for when Mare’s House members graduate from our program and transition into independent living.

We invite you to explore all of the many things our home, our community, and San Diego have to offer.
